Sleep is Possible.....

I have been struggling with getting enough sleep for quite a while.  I have tried it all too.  The taking away of stimulation, no coffee and sugar, etc.  However, recently I stumbled onto something that seems to working and my fitness monitor is actually agreeing with me.  Below is a break down of what I have done.

1.  Set an alarm on my phone to eat every 2 hours.

2.  Focused on having tomorrow activities planned and prepped before I leave work.

3.  Talk to my wife and co-workers without the distraction of technology.

4.  Put my phone down and pick up a book for 15 minutes a day.

Seems pretty simple.  This change came about in the reaction to my month of March.  Like many of the readers of this blog, I was blind sided by an extremely stressful event.  Couple that with alot of work responsibility and soon I was in complete reactionary/fight/flight mode.  The end result was what felt like a month of little, to no, sleep.  Everything else spiraled from there.

While the stressful event isn't behind me and my family, it has become livable again.  However, my sleep has not returned to normal.  It was time to try something new and I chose to focus on rebalancing my mind/body instead of looking at small things it could be.  Diet was the first step toward the rebalance.

I did not expect the results to kick in so swiftly.  I have been at this a little over 9 days and already I have been sleeping like crazy.  I checked on the internet to see if this might be the cause and the research out there is mixed.  However the article below gives solid information of more things I can alter and see what their results are!
